How We Actually Test Things

How We Actually Test Things

If Homizel gives something a rating, someone on our team used it — for real, not just from the spec sheet.

Games

We play it ourselves — checking whether it runs smoothly, how often it crashes or glitches, and whether it’s actually appropriate for the age group we say it is.

VPNs

We check real speed before and after connecting, test whether it leaks your IP or DNS info, try the kill switch, and compare the provider’s privacy claims against any independent audits we can find.

Software

We install it on a regular test computer, use the main features like a normal person would for a set stretch of time, and note any crashes, slowdowns, or annoying “gotcha” upsells.

AI Tools

We throw the same set of everyday questions and tasks at each tool and compare the answers to what the company claims it can do.

Every review lists exactly what version we tested and when.
